PAX Prime 2011

Welcome home

I did it! I've levelled up. I finally attended the Penny Arcade Expo.

I'm a huge geek, there's no sense in hiding it or feeling ashamed about it. I may not look or act like a typical nerd. I dress fairly well, have good social skills and I'm not morbidly obese. But i've loved video games and comic books since I was very young. My first console was an Atari 2600 given to me for Christmas when I was 4 or 5. My junior high school had a comic shop and an arcade all within walking distance, I never stood a chance.

For those who love video games the Penny Arcade Expo is a kind of Mecca. A conference for the fans, not the press. A place to share you're hobbies with like minded people. I've been trying to attend for the past three years. Every year something seemed to come up that would prevent me from going. I was determined not to let that happen this time. I was able to round up three friends and together we made the pilgrimage to Seattle.

It was big, it was loud, it was crowded and it was amazing. I'll be posting more content later on but for now, enjoy some photos.

Mike and Jerry being hilarious during the Q & A

>Mike and Jerry

The lines were long but the Enforcers made things fun during the wait. These are volunteers that make sure everything runs smoothly. This guy had a power glove and was challenging people to rock, paper, scissors.
